Lykens was laid out in 1848. The borough was named for Andrew Lycan. Anthracite coal mining sustained a population of 2,762 in 1900 and 2,943 in 1910. The population was 1,865 at the 2020 census. Lykens is part of the HarrisburgCarlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area. U.S. Route 209 passes through the borough, leading northeast 29 miles (47 km) to Pottsville and west 14 miles (23km) to Millersburg on the Susquehanna River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.2 km²), all of it land. The median income for a household in the borough was $33,846, and the median age for a family was $40,909. About 6.2% of families and 8.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 10.4% of those under age 18 and 10.7% ofThose age 65 or over. History

Lykens was laid out in 1848. The borough was named for Andrew Lycan. The GAR Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city, dating back to the early 19th century. It was built on the site of a former sawmill in the early 1900s. The building is now home to the Lykens Museum of Art and Science, which was built in the same building in the late 1800s. It has a collection of more than 1,000 pieces of art, including several works of art by the likes of Picasso, Mathewson, and Van Dyke. The museum is located on the corner of Main Street and Main Street in the town of Lykens, New York. It opened its doors to the public in 1903. The city's first post office was opened in 1847. It closed in 1852. It reopened again in 1853, and was renamed Lykens in 1855. It became a borough in 1856. The town's name was changed to Lykens after Lycan, who was born in the area in 1824. It's now a suburb of New York City, with a population of about 2,000. It also has its own museum of art and science, which opened in the mid-19th century, and is located in the borough's historic district. It dates back to 1848, when Lykens was first laid out. The current GAR building was constructed in the 1930s.

The town is now known as Lykens and has a population of about 1,000. It is located on the banks of the Wiconico Creek, a tributary of the Susquehannock River. It was once a part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and was known as the "Turnpike Highway" until the turnpike was built in the late 1800s. The turnpikes were built to connect the towns of Lyken and Millersberg, which are now separated by a river. The Turnpikes are now the center of the town and the town's population has grown to around 1,200.

The borough is located on the New Jersey Turnpike, which connects to New Jersey and New Jersey via the Raritan River and the Susquehannock River. It is the only borough in New Jersey that is not part of the New York City metropolitan area. It was the site of the U.S. Civil War, when the Battle of the Bulge took place in 1864. The town was once known as "The Bulge" because of its location on the Delaware River. The name is derived from the word "bulge" or "bullet" which means "to shoot".
