Gibbstown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Greenwich Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey. The 2010 U.S. census counted 3,739 people, 1,472 households, and 1,039 families in the CDP. The Port of Paulsboro is located on the Delaware River and Mantua Creek in and around Gibbstown. C. A. Nothnagle Log House, purportedly the oldest house in New Jersey and the oldest surviving log house in the U.s., dating to around 1638, is located in the town. The CDP had a total area of 1.642 square miles (4.253 km²), all of which was land, as of the 2000 U. S. census. The median age in the 2010 census was 42.9 years. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 94.8 males. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.00. In the 2010 CDP, the median income for a household was 92.2 dollars, and the median age for a family was 40 years old. The racial makeup of the community was 96.65% White, 1.09% African American, 0.11% Native American,0.69% Asian, and 0.03% Pacific Islander. Geography

The Port of Paulsboro is located on the Delaware River and Mantua Creek. Traditionally one of the nation's busiest for marine transfer operations of petroleum products. The port is being redeveloped as an adaptable omniport able to handle a diversity of bulk, break bulk cargo and shipping containers. Studies completed in 2012 concluded that the port is well suited to become a center for the manufacture, assembly, and transport of wind turbines and platforms. The development of Atlantic Wind Connection will see the port become a hub for wind turbine manufacturing and transport. The U.S. Census Bureau says Gibbstown had a total area of 1.642 square miles (4.253 km²), all of which was land. It is located in Delaware County, New Jersey, about 30 miles (50 kilometers) north of the city of Philadelphia. The town has a population of about 2,000 (2,100 in the 2010 Census) The town is home to the Paulsborough Refinery, which is mostly located in the town of Gibbstown. The city's population is about 1,500 (1,500 in the 2000 Census). It is also home to a number of other businesses, including a bank, a bank and a car dealership. It also has a small number of schools. The community is known for its love of sports, particularly football and baseball. The area is known as "The Town of the Giants" for its large number of football fields and other sports facilities.

Education

Guardian Angels Regional School is a K-8 school that operates under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Camden. Its PreK-3 campus is in Gibbstown while its 4-8 campus are in Paulsboro. Greenwich Township School District operates the area public schools except high school, which is operated by Paul'sboro Public Schools. The school is located in the town of Paulsborough, New Jersey, and has a population of about 2,000. It is one of the largest Catholic schools in the state, with more than 1,000 students. It was founded by the Catholic Church in the mid-19th century, and was named after the Virgin Mary. The current school was founded in the early 20th century. It has an enrollment of about 1,200 students, with the majority of the students being under the age of 8. It also has a preK-4 campus and a 4-7 campus.
