Snow Hill is a town in Greene County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Greene County and is part of the Greenville Metropolitan Area. Snow Hill is the smallest town in the United States to ever field a professional baseball team. The Greene County Courthouse, Neoheroka Fort Site, Snow Hill Colored High School, and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Snow Hill Billies played in the Class D Coastal Plain League and won the league pennant in 1937. Future New York Yankees Aaron Robinson and Al Gettel began their careers with the Billies, as did Walter Rabb, who would serve as head baseball coach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for nearly thirty years. The town is located on the south side of Contentnea Creek, which connects with the Neuse River at Kinston. U.S. Route 13 passes through the north side of town, leading northeast 23 miles (37 km) to Greenville and southwest 21 miles (34km) to Goldsboro. The Green Ridge Racquet Club is home to the USTA (United States Tennis Association) Sanctioned tournaments during the year. It was near the location of the final major battle of the Tuscarora War in 1713. There are several theories for the derivation of the town's name. One theory is that the town derived its name from the Contentnea creek on whose banks Native Americans camped and called them "snowy white".

Future New York Yankees Aaron Robinson and Al Gettel began their careers with the Billies, as did Walter Rabb, who would serve as head baseball coach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for nearly thirty years. In April 2011, a tornado struck the town and caused massive damage. The Greene County Courthouse, Neoherokas Fort Site, Snow Hill Colored High School, and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Town of Snow Hill was chartered in 1828 and was originally a major trading depot on Contentnea creek. It is located in central Greene County, near the main Wilson-to-New Bern trading artery, and the Neuse River at Kinston. At the time, Contentnea was a main Wilson, New Bern, Wilson and Kinston trading artery. It was also the site of the first U.S. Army base in North Carolina, which was established in 1827. It has been home to the Snow Hill High School for more than 50 years.

Snow Hill is located south of the center of Greene County at 35°2648N 77°4024W, on a low bluff on the south side of Contentnea Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau, Snow Hill has a total area of 1.5 square miles (4.0 km²), all of which is land. The town is located on the eastern edge of the Great Dismal Swamp, which is a National Register of Historic Places site. Snow Hill was named after Snow Hill, North Carolina, where the town was founded in the 18th century. The name is derived from the Snow Hill River, a tributary of the Little Dismal Creek, which flows through the town and into the Little Piney River, which runs through the west side of the town. It is also known as "Snow Hill" or "Snow Mountain" because of the snow-covered hilltop. The community is located in Greene County, which includes the towns of Greenville, Kinston, Farmville, and Farmville. It also has a population of 1,000, with the majority of its residents living in or near the town of Kinston. It has a post office with the ZIP code of 7053.
