The city has the name of Ben Lennox, private secretary to the general manager to the Milwaukee Railroad. History

The city has the name of Ben Lennox, private secretary to the general manager to the Milwaukee Railroad. The city was founded in 1836, and was named after Lennox. It is located on the banks of the Wisconsin River, which runs through the center of the city. It was named for Lennox's wife, who was a member of the board of directors of the Milwaukee and Chicago Railroad.
