History
Anaheim Landing was established by farmers and merchants in the newly settled town of Anaheim who wanted a closer, more convenient port to ship the wine they were growing. The site of Anaheim Landing is now registered as a California Historical Landmark. The Joy Zone, a beach-side amusement park built in 1916, was the first in Orange County. During World War II, the U.S. Navy purchased most of the land around Anaheim Landing to construct the United States Naval Weapons Station for loading, unloading, storing and storing ammunition for the Pacific Fleet, especially those home-ported in Long Beach and San Diego. The town's location on two Bays with many inlets to offload bootleg liquor, its small police department, and its location on the county line, allowed it to become a popular place for rumrunners and then gamblers. With gambling being a misdemeanor, the trials were held in the Seal Beach's municipal court's jury never returned a guilty verdict, to the dismay of Orange County officials. But around 1941 Seal Beach was filled by a former police detective named William L. Robertson, who filled the void left by the gambling ship's absence. With closure of the Concord Weapons Station, Seal Beach has become the primary source of munitions for a majority of the US Navy's Pacific Fleet. The majority of US Navy warships in Northern California are now based in San Diego and San Francisco. The city is now home to the California National Guard, the California Air National Guard and the California State Guard.

If for simplification for example the tax rate is $14.00 and the home value is $250,000, the property tax would be $14.00 x ($250,000/1000), or $3500. This is the 'effective' tax rate.
